About Us

We’re a small team that believes in doing things the right way: with care, with curiosity, and with respect. We work hard, we keep learning, and we treat people as the unique individuals they are.

Our Mission

We’re here because people deserve answers and they deserve to feel better.

Too often, patients come to us after years of being told their pain is normal, their sleep is fine, or that their symptoms don’t mean anything. They know something’s wrong, but no one’s connected the dots. That’s where we come in. Our mission is to listen first, look deeper, and give every patient the respect of a clear explanation and a plan that actually makes sense

What Guides us

At the heart of our work is integrity. We don’t push treatments that aren’t needed or make promises we can’t keep. We offer what we truly believe is best for each patient based on experience, continuing education, and a constant desire to improve.

We also believe in staying curious. This field is evolving fast, and we’re committed to learning everything we can so our patients get care that’s current, thoughtful, and grounded in science.

But more than anything, we believe in people; in their ability to heal, in their right to be heard, and in their strength to keep going, even when things have been hard for a long time. We’re here for that. That’s why we do this work.

What We believe

We believe healthcare should be built on trust, education, and compassion. Our vision is to create a space where patients feel understood and taken seriously, and where treatment is never rushed or transactional.
We want people to leave our office not only feeling better, but feeling informed, finally understanding why things have been the way they are, and what can be done about it. Over time, we hope to help more families breathe easier, sleep better, and live with less pain. That includes adults who’ve been stuck in cycles of trial and error, and kids who deserve a chance to grow and thrive with the right support from the start.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Stephen D. Russell, DDS, DABDSM

Dr. Stephen Russell didn’t set out to become a dentist. He was the kind of kid who loved building things with his family, from a barn and a fence to a pigeon aviary, and he found joy in solving problems with his hands. He loved science and math, often tutoring classmates who struggled, and he discovered early on that he had a talent not just for learning but for teaching and connecting with people. Dentistry, it turned out, gave him a way to do all of that while helping real people.

From the very beginning of his educational journey, Dr. Russell also stepped into leadership as the first student board member for the Washington Academy of General Dentistry. After graduating from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in biology and earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2005, he joined his father’s dental practice in Olympia. His dad was already a forward thinker, especially when it came to early airway research, and he taught Steve the importance of going deeper than symptoms. That foundation stuck.

For years, Dr. Russell ran a high-level restorative practice focused on full-mouth reconstruction, implants, and cosmetic dentistry. He trained under world-class mentors like Dr. Carl Misch and completed extensive coursework at the Kois Center. His hands-on work was meticulous, technically demanding, and deeply rewarding. But after two decades in clinical dentistry, and after seeing the same patients return with the same headaches, jaw pain, and fatigue despite perfect crowns and night guards, he realized something wasn’t adding up. The root cause hadn’t been treated.

That realization sent him down a new path. Dr. Russell began studying craniofacial pain, TMJ disorders, and sleep-disordered breathing. He trained under Dr. Steven Olmos, completing over 150 hours of specialized education. In 2020, he earned Diplomate status from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, a credential held by only a small number of dentists nationwide. He became obsessed with understanding how the airway, jaw, and nervous system intersect and how untreated dysfunction in one area could spiral into chronic pain, fatigue, and declining health.

Today, Dr. Russell has limited his practice to the evaluation and treatment of TMJ disorders, facial pain, sleep apnea, and airway-related conditions. He works with adults who have “tried everything else” and are ready for clear answers and honest solutions. His diagnostic process is deeply personal, guided by imaging, real-time response, and clinical patterns most providers do not see. He takes pride in delivering treatments that are non-surgical, conservative, and designed to actually work.
